SECOND MAGMA CONFERENCE ON COMPUTATIONAL ALGEBRA
At lunchtime on Tuesday, poster presenters were asked to stand by their
posters to answer questions. However, we realized that if everyone
went to get lunch, there would be no one to look at the posters (and the
presenters wouldn't get to eat). So, we quickly threw together a lunch
of sub sandwiches, chips, and soda which we served right at the poster
site (third-floor atrium). This worked extremely well. One of my favorite
memories of the conference is looking across the atrium and seeing groups
scattered about discussing various posters and topics.
This photo, taken after the conference, shows the posters displayed on
the windows surrounding the atrium on the third floor. The posters were
on display for the last few days of the conference providing opportunities
for additional reading and conversation.
We did manage to get a picture of Michael Zieve at his poster.
