Computer Science Students Dabble In Hardware

Second year students in Dr. Rong Ge's Hardware Systems course (COSC 2200) gather round for the climactic connection of the final component to a six-bit Ripple-Adder. Twelve students worked together to construct and test the digital logic circuits comprising the Adder, a fundamental unit of computational hardware present in all modern computer processors.

MSCS Department's First Summer REU Program Concluded Successfully

Fifteen undergraduate students committed more than 300 hours each this summer to "Research Experiences for Undergraduates" (REU) projects with a wide variety of faculty advisors in mathematics, math education, and computer science. At the end of August, participants presented their final results in a well-attended public poster session ringed around the third floor of Cudahy Hall. See the REU Wiki ( http://acm.mscs.mu.edu/reu/) for more details!
