Conference Venue

The IEEE MASCOTS 2018 conference will take place in the Alumni Memorial Union on the campus of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Marquette is a Jesuit university founded in 1881 located in the Great Avenues neighborhood just west of downtown Milwaukee. It has 8300 undergraduate and 3000 graduate and professional students.

Milwaukee has a rich offering of hotels and an even richer offering of various foods representing the diverse history of the Cream City. Milwaukee was once the home to some of the world's largest breweries (Schlitz, Blatz, Pabst, and Miller). The Pabst mansion is a short walk away from campus and the Miller Visitor Center located 9 minutes by car from campus offers tours. The Milwaukee Art Museum is located 10 minutes by cab in the opposite direction on the shores of Lake Michigan and is one of the largest museums in the United States. It includes the Quadracci Pavilion with a movable brise soleil, created by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.

Calatrava's building features as the headquarters of baddy Dylan in Transformers 3. The final chase in Blues Brothers has the Bluesmobile end up on the spectacular I-794 bridge (completed in 1998) that connects the Southern suburbs with downtown Milwaukee before the chasing Nazi car falls to oblivion in front of a Chicago skyline.
