Moved to EECE

by George Corliss

After 23 years in the Department, I have moved from MSCS to EECE this fall.  Why?  My motivations include:

i)    Emphasize that the MS in Computing is a JOINT program.

ii)       The traditions of engineering are a little more supportive of career-oriented education,

iii)     Greater chance of having Ph. D. students, and

iv)     A nice pay raise.

My responsibilities will not change that much.  I continue to teach similar material, I continue as Director of the MS in Computing program, which has grown to well 100 students, and I especially continue to be interested in what all my former students are doing.

So, if you have news of events in YOUR life, whether personal or professional, I hope that you will continue to share them with me at George.Corliss@Marquette.edu, and when appropriate, I will pass them on.  If your company has job openings, send a job description, and I will post it to my job news alias.

If you wish to receive MSCS career-related news, subscribe by sending an empty note to georgec-jobs-subscribe@mscs.mu.edu. If you find yourself looking again for a job, know that the full resources of Marquette, including the Career Services Center and your network of friends and faculty are still here for you.  I have recently advised two 1984 graduates looking for new jobs.  You are part of Marquette for the rest of your life.

There IS one change, though, if you visit the campus and come looking for me, look in the Haggerty Engineering Building, room 296.  I hope that you will.
