Financial Aid

Updated Nov 28, 2007

We anticipate that most of the new students in the Computing program will be self-supporting or supported by their employers. Most of the "aid" received by students in our program is in the form of employer tuition remission. By far your best bet for aid is your employer. This program has little additional financial support, but students compete for Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (EECE) and in the Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science (MSCS). A few students find support from other units of the University. If you are currently supported by EECE, changing into this program may reduce your chances for continued support. If you are currently supported by MSCS, changing into this program probably will have minimal effect on your chances for continued support. If you indicate on your application that you want to be considered for financial support, and indicate whether you prefer or would accept support from EECE or MSCS (See instructions for completing your application). Your indication of a preference for EECE or MSCS helps us direct your application to the unit most likely to be able to offer support. Indicating more than one does NOT double your chances. All applications for support may be considered by either EECE or MSCS, but note that their requirements for assistantships may differ from the entrance requirements for this program.
