Week 6
Lecture
This week we went over a high
level overview of mail systems and how they function and kind of how
everything fits together. Then we looked at the protocols in more
depth. We looked at how they function and some of the messages
involved.What I Did
I made an effort to try to read through the
actual protocols, not completely in depth, but enough to get a good
feel as to how and why things are were they are. I also tried to
make mail captures of my own using tcpdump on shadow0, but I had
trouble sending email from that machine. I also tried to send
email by manually entering commands specified by the protocols.
